New Editor—My Final Round of Revisions Begins This Summer!

Welcome back, everyone! Hopefully you all had a great Mother's Day this past weekend. So, as I mentioned yesterday on Facebook, I've been in contact with a professional editor my father introduced me to on Reedsy a few weeks ago. For those of you who are curious, this woman's name is Chersti Nieveen. She has 13+ years of experience in editing with both adult and young adult novels, and has even worked with authors like Dan Wells and Brandon Sanderson. Per the terms of our agreement, she will start reading The Cardorian Complex on June 18th, and will finish by August 10th.

This means I am less than three months away from my definitive final draft of The Cardorian Complex. I realize that many of you have heard from me that this book has been in its final draft for several months now, but recent events have urged me to seek out one final round of editing before I commit. Once I have Chersti's feedback and make these changes, I can promise you all that I will be done editing this book once and for all and I can focus on the next big step: getting the damn thing published!

Luckily, I've been making progress on that front as well, but that's a post for another day. I'll write an entry sometime later this week outlining the publishing path I'm currently on, and how likely I am to commit to it. The end is in sight. The big takeaway is that I will have my definitive final draft by the end of September, and can spend the rest of 2018 focusing on finding cover designers and book reviewers.

Signing off,

JTB
