Hi, I'm John

I'm an American author who writes under the pen name J. Taylor Baker. I grew up in Washington state after moving from California at just five years old with the rest of my family. I've called the Pacific Northwest my home for nearly my entire life. I was lucky to be raised in Bainbridge Island, Washington, a small town just a half-hour ferry ride away from Seattle that gave me the chance to receive a great high school education and surrounded my with writers and book-lovers from a very young age.

I developed a love of writing during the summer of 2008, when I was eleven years old. I began writing The Cardorian Complex that year and continued to work on it vociferously during middle school, high school, and college. After over a decade of honing my skills and learning what stories I wanted to tell, my dream of becoming a published author was achieved in 2019.

I chose to self-publish my first book under Eagle Cliff Press LLC. Since then, I've chosen to pursue literary representation for my future works as I continue to build my author platform.

Prior to publishing my first book, I graduated from Western Washington University in 2018 with a major in Multidisciplinary Studies and a minor in both English and Psychology. I currently live in Bellingham, WA and plan to pursue a career in mental health counseling and helping those on the autism spectrum.
